Facet

Facet keeps screenshots, documents and private photos out of your everyday view, automatically. Everything happens on your phone.

No data collected · No account · Your photos are never moved or changed

In other photo apps: a passport, a chat screenshot and a private photo sit among the newest photos in the Library grid
In Facet: those three are gone and older photos move down to fill the space, leaving only everyday photos such as food, flowers, beaches and a dog in a blanket

How it works

On your phone

Your photos

Read in place and never changed. New photos are analysed as soon as you open Facet, the rest in the background.

Each photo is analysed

  • Scene
  • People
  • Text

Default is cautious. Relaxed is less strict about beachwear.

  • Library

    Looks fine.

  • Review

Not sure, or couldn't be read.

  • Filtered

    Looks sensitive.

You decide

Move any photo yourself. Your choice always wins.

Unlock to open

Filtered and Review need your phone's own unlock.

What Facet doesn't do

Facet is a separate gallery. It doesn't change what Google Photos, your Photos app or any other app shows, and it never moves, edits or deletes a photo. Open Facet when you show someone your phone.

Facet sorts the obvious photos automatically and asks you about the rest. It sometimes gets one wrong, so check Review now and then.

Questions

Does Facet upload my photos?

No. Your photos are analysed on your phone and Facet collects no data. A photo only leaves your phone if you share it yourself.

Will it move or delete anything?

No. Uninstall Facet and everything is exactly as it was.

Does Facet work on iPhone?

Yes, on iOS 18 or later. On iPhone, Facet uses Apple's own tools to analyse photos on the device.
