Keeping screenshots out of your camera roll view
Screenshots land in the same place as your holiday photos. A bank balance, a boarding pass, a chat, a scan of your passport. Most of the time that's fine. It isn't when someone is scrolling your phone.
Ways to deal with it today
- Delete screenshots once you're done with them. It works if you remember.
- Move them into a separate album. On iPhone, the Screenshots album already collects them, but it's still part of Photos and easy to open.
- Use the Hidden album (iPhone) or Locked Folder (Android) for the important ones, one by one.
Why people stop doing it
It's a chore, and it only covers what you remembered.
What Facet does
Facet reads your photos on your phone and keeps documents, chat screenshots, receipts and similar photos out of Library automatically. They go to Filtered, which opens with Face ID or your phone's lock. Photos Facet isn't sure about wait in Review, so you can decide.
A normal photo with a little text in it, such as a shop sign or a logo on a T-shirt, stays in Library.
Facet is cautious on purpose. A harmless screenshot sometimes lands in Filtered. Pick it to show and Facet follows your choice over its own verdict. Your Photos app isn't changed, and nothing is moved, edited or deleted.
