Facet

Browsing your photos in public

On a train or a bus, your screen is visible to the person next to you and the one behind. Most of what you scroll is fine. One screenshot or one photo you forgot about is enough to make you close the app.

What helps

  • A privacy screen protector narrows the angle your screen can be read from.
  • Lower the brightness, and angle the phone toward you.
  • Check what your lock screen and widgets show, since photos can appear there too.

What those can't do

They shrink who can see your screen. They don't change what's in your gallery.

What Facet does

Open Facet instead of your usual gallery. Library only shows photos Facet is confident are fine to show, so a stray screenshot or private photo isn't waiting two swipes away. Filtered and Review stay closed behind Face ID or your phone's lock.

Facet is cautious on purpose, so some harmless photos won't be in Library. They're in Review or Filtered, and you can pick which of them to show. Your choice wins over Facet's verdict. Photos stay in your Photos app, and nothing is uploaded.
